Royal Worcester Game Series Tureen is a classic mid-century design.
 
Game Series sets were popular in the Edwardian period when the game course were bought for serving the game dishes. The Palissy series comes in two designs -  Birds and Animals. This tureen is part of the Birds series, with snipe and pheasants in two coloured scenes on the lid.  There is a design of brown transferware flowers around the bowl.
